BRAINDEAD
Braindead is a rap collective that resides in the DFW metroplex. Founded by YDNA and Tokinpotent, braindead consisted of Kegod, Gammaray and DREIN. During their high school years Kegod discovered VIC’s latest track at the time “Ignorant” and liked the song a lot, so he showed it to YDNA and Tokin. At first they weren’t up for the idea of adding another rapper to their group, but once they heard the song they loved it and the energy that VIC brought to the collective. As Braindead grew they worked alongside 500 Gwap Gang where they collabed and molded their sound. In my opinion, when I think of the DFW underground the first names that pop into my head are Gwap and Braindead. The energy they bring to their music and shows is just so raw and organic, the chemistry is unmatched. A group of friends who came together and collectively shared the same dream. One thing I love about Braindead is the brotherhood within the group. They always are looking out for each other and recording together. Recently they have been focusing more on their own craft but still performing together, I feel like a Braindead tape along with the proper PR push could really establish their collective even more!
