Pyrex Pirates

Pyrex Pirates was the first ever local rap group I went to see live, and on top of that was the first ever rap performance I’ve seen. What attracted me to Slump, Gnarly and Drew was the content in their music. They were making references to anime and wrestling, things that I love and I instantly became a fan. PXP is from Oak Cliff, Tx and I would classify them as the misfits of the underground rap universe. Mixing punk and rap has been done before but nothing like how Pyrex Pirates does it, I would go as far as saying PXP was the first to blend the two styles in the DFW. The Pirates taught me to always be yourself regardless of what people say. PXP is always raising the bar, especially when it comes to performing. The crowd will be stale and all it takes is for that PXP energy to hit the stage to heat up the room!
